Pilates

So the hubby and I started Pilates 2 weeks ago with the DVD's I bought like 2 years ago and just found under the bed. I did it once since then. Tonight we both went and did the workout.

Is this supposed to make me thinner? I don't see how. It says it's going to tighten my butt ... uh I finally have a butt, I don't want to lose it. I just want my belly gone. I think I need to do some reading on this. Anyone know anything I'm missing about Pilates?

it's a toning/rehabilitation exercise invented by an injured dancer, Joseph Pilates. Basically in toning your muscle up your metabolism burns more calories (muscle at rest burns waaaay more calories than fat at rest) and so you burn off your fat and replace it with toned muscle. Plus 1 lb of muscle takes up about a third of the space that 1 lb of fat takes up... so yeah it should make you skinnier...
